Looking for help....

Hi,

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I am new here and looking for help. Our church is currently using SongShow Plus, and we have controlled the projector with a terminal program that had assignable buttons for the projector commands. To make a long story short we had a hard drive crash and upgraded to windows 7 64 bit to use more memory. The terminal program is not compatible however with 64 bit software. I downloaded the projector mate program that was written for a PT-L720U. (Ours is a PT-L780u) I can now turn the projector on and off but need one of the inputs set to RGB3 instead of RGB2. (We send out of the projector on RGB2 for display monitors and the DVD player inputs to RGB3.) I can upload the Terminal program and PT-L780U.trm file if it will help. Thanks for your help! It would be Awesome if I could get it to work with Windows 7 64 bit because I had many more assigned buttons with it. Thanks again for any help! Dan

Another RS232 program

Indigo from Shade Blue is another terminal emulator. If I remember correctly it doesn't have buttons but does have macros. It claims to work in Win 7. Free to try for 45 days--$35 to buy.

I had a situation with a borrowed projector and used it to turn it on and off. Worked fine.

another one that i have not tried yet but looks like it might have what it takes for this and more is Girder (http://www.promixis.com/girder.php). Not free but reasonably priced. RS232 needs the Pro version which is $99.

Has anyone come up with something to control a Sanyo PLC-XF45 projector? We can use the menu functions with our remote but the screen is close to 100' away from the booth, making it hard to see.

I wrote some code a while back that allows you to control routing switchers from your mobile device. I'll see if I can dig that up as you could probably adapt it quite easily to control a projector via Rs232

Here is a demo of my setup: http://justinburdine.com/index.php/c...ing-controller
