I used to work for an event production company that did high end weddings and corp. events...we used a similar product at it worked great...placing one about 20-25 ft back from a wall would cover aprox. 30-35ft tall by 40 ft wide wall.

We did Down by the Creekbank for the kids one year with the blue cellophane, some rocks, plants, and of course, an old hollow log.

I believe it was an 'old holler log'. My oldest kids just about wore out the LP I have when they were little.

Thanks for the idea. I think I am either going to use a variation of the cellophane idea or the Abyss projector.

I appreciate all the input.

You know you succeeded if you have an increase in congregation bathroom visits... our old sanctuary had a waterfall behind the baptismal... it caused such problems with people having to use the bathroom it was shut off and not used! Now that the sanctuary is torn down I have heard people mention things they miss but not one has mentioned the waterfall ... Good luck with the project sounds cool.

Let us know how it worked out, and get someone to take a video before you disassemble it all.

Has anyone looked inside the Abyss projector to see what they are using? Is it perhaps just some textured plastic on a wheel? You know, the bumpy plastic as you see on the salad bowls at Olive Garden, or some plastic drinking glasses, or even shower doors. In the laser projector field, they use textured plastic to make laser clouds - very effective. I love to make my own projectors, or put wheels in front of old slide projectors to do the same. Use a piece of gel for the blue color, and then a simple slow rpm motor turning some textured plastic. Just thinking....
Best regards,
Art
