bonanza burning map

I need to do a promo to recruit volunteers for our Christmas production this year, and the production is a western. I'd like to start it with the Ponderosa burning map from Bonanza.

I have the jpeg of the map but I don't know how to do the fire part...

HELP!!!!

I take it you're looking to do the burn out from the center in an animated fashion. I can think of a way or two to do that with masks and a plug-in or two within Adobe After Effects.

I you want to post/attach the JPG map. I'll see if I can give a crack at it over the next few days.

Why not just do a video capture of the video - Bonanza is on TVLand almost every day.

I thought about that too, but unfortunately it crossfades to the introduction of the characters, and I think the burn is a little too fast for how they're wanting to use it. 2cents.

Used a shape layer scaled from 0 to 500% with BCC Fire applied to edges only. Duplicate of shape layer stroked and blurred for darkening and char.
Rendered as Quicktime MOV.
