Electric Piano / Strings

Hello everybody! I have perhaps an odd situation, but my church is looking to acquire a new keyboard/electric piano. We currently have a very nice Roland with a ton of patches and effects, and honestly, we've been having issues for too long trying to get keyboard players to settle down and stick with basic piano, piano + strings patches. So, I've been tasked with the following:

Is there a very good sounding electric piano/keyboard out there that has MINIMAL sounds (like just piano, and piano + strings, or piano + pad) so we can eliminate the possibilty of somebody choosing to play electric guitar on the keyboard? Or, is there a decent keyboard that has the ability for us to program in a couple of sounds and lock it down so the player can not explore, and must only use our pre-set sounds (maybe requiring a password to select anything different) ??

Your guidance is appreciated!

For what it's worth, I don't think you can fix a problem with the musician by changing the instrument. If they won't take direction now, they won't take direction on the new keyboard.

I know that probably not your call, so I understand the position you are in.

Mods may remove this post but... you say you have a "very nice Roland." What I believe you have is a people problem. I know it is hard to deal with people sometimes but at the moment there is a desperate need for funds to keep earthquake victims from freezing in Turkey and there is a very bad drought situation in East Africa, not to mention thousands of other needy situations right around you. I think if I were you I would suggest to leadership that you make do with the very nice Roland, give the money you would spend on a new keyboard to a needy cause, and dive into dealing with the problem. It is not fun but I'll be praying for you.

This sounds like an expensive solution to what is a personnel issue. Instead of throwing good money after good money that was already spent. How about spending those funds to send your worship team to some training on how to be more effective and sensitive to the needs of the congregation.

Seems to me there is nothing wrong with the keyboard--maybe you should look into replacing the player?
