| We use ProPresenter to do lower thirds without any additional broadcast card. We create slides with white text on the lower third of a black background and use our switcher's luma key. It works great! Even when we use the chroma key with our "blue wave" lower third for our nursery announcements it still looks good, even though the luma key results in a semi-transparent lower third.

| Hmm. This seems interesting. I think this can be our work around. To help though, I have a follow up question. We have a Mac Pro and DataVideo SE800 switcher. I don't think there's a Luma Key on our switcher, but there is a chromakey there. So I have 2 questions. 1. When experimenting with the Datavideo SE800 switcher, I couldn't find a way to preview the chroma key before going live with it. I had to key the video on the my live program feed. Is there a better of doing this? 2. What are the best methods you use for getting ProPresenter from you computer to your switcher without purchasing graphic cards? |

| Chroma key should work even better. Create your slides on a rude green background then key out the green. Our switcher (Panasonic AV-300GS) has a DVI input specifically for computer input, so we go straight in from the mini-DVI out from our iMac. You could probably find a USB graphics dongle that could give you component or composite to feed your SE800.

| We too use PP4 as a luma key. Works great on our Ross 210A for basic graphics. We have a chroma key function but I've never had the equipment to experiment with it yet. We upgraded from a DOS based system so for no cost, we were all presently surprised.

| I am using Pro Presenter 5 on a PC with Windows 7. My video switcher is a Kramer VP-728. Similar issue; we want to have live video with text on the lower third. Previously I was told to do this I just needed a video switcher that does PIP, however I'm realizing it might be a little more advanced. I'm not sure if I have a Chroma Key feature on the Kramer VP-728 (we are renting it for this weekend and hoping to do live video). Any idea if it's possible for us to overlay text on the live video feed? Right now the PIP is working but ProPresenter is keeping the black background over the text, which doesn't look very good. Any ideas? Thanks, any help is appreciated ![]() |
