They have a workaround now. The problem exists only on MacBook Pro Machines with a nvidia graphic chip. If the DVD Playback feature is disabled, the problem is gone. With the newest version from PP they will detect automaticly if the machine can have this problem and will disable the DVD Playback.
Use the same link above for this and more informations...

Apple recently acknowledged the aforementioned "kernel
panics" that were occurring in ProPresenter as a bug with the
latest NVidia drivers which were included with the MacOS 10.5.5
release. They say that NVidia is "working on the problem"
but they have no timetable for when the problem will be "fixed",
so we would recommend staying with 10.5.4 if you have an
NVidia graphics card. However, we have released a new version of
ProPresenter, version 3.4.2, that will, among many other things,
automatically disable the DVD functionality on effected machines.
This update can be downloaded at:
Any updates, both major and minor, will be posted in the above discussion
thread.
To determine what kind of graphics card you have, choose "About
this Mac from the Apple menu on the upper left of your machine
and then select "more info" at the bottom of the window that appears. On
the left hand column, select "Graphics/Displays" and in the information
shown you should see the "vendor" for your graphics card, which will likely
be either ATI or NVidia. NVidia cards are the only machines known to
be affected at this time.
Note this will likely be the last email update on this problem. Any
additional information can be found at the above mentioned web forum.
Please note that ProPresenter is a complex piece of software that quite
literally takes advantage of most every major function of the operating
system. As such, we recommend caution with any updates or upgrades
to the operating system, or QuickTime on machines running ProPresenter.
Rest assured we will make every attempt to stay ahead and on top of
these problems before they get to you and make you aware of them
on our website's support pages at
