my cd printer quit

I have been using a photosmart printer for the last year printing directly on the CD. The printhead died and HP no longer makes this model. I can't find one that will print on the CD like this one and it really worked for me. I usually only print less than 15 each week. Any suggestions? We quit using the labels because too many were getting stuck in the CD players.

thanks
mary

We still like our Dymo DiscPainter. Ink is a little expensive. But it's quick and does the job.

Ever thought of having a whole bunch preprinted by a company like discmakers?

We thought about that, but we decided it was worth the ink to take our title slide and make a CD template out of it, rather than using a generic Our Church graphic and adding the sermon title and date with sharpie or a text printer.

I think I found something

Pastor likes each sermon title and date so I don't think that will work (and I don't want to write each one!)

I found an Epson Artisan 50 Ink Jet for $100 on line at Epson and I'm going to order that. If it works for a year like the last one, I guess I'll be satisfied.

thanks to both of you for your suggestion. Oh, I went to the Dymo web site and that printer is not available any more.

I've used several models of Epson for CDs. The most recent is Artisan 710 -- works like a champ.

I've had several Epson printers over the past 10 years and I have been happy with every single one of them. Their customer service is very good also. I've had a couple of printers fail on me and because they were still under warranty, a new printer was shipped to me in a few days..and I didn't have to send the old one back. I even had a situation where one of my Epson printers was outside of the warranty period, they still shipped me a new one.

got my printer

just wanted to update on my printer and, Ted, it is true about the service. I received my printer; tried to set it up and it just would not work. I called support and it was determined that the printer was defective. They gave me a ref. # and had me call customer service. Epson overnighted a new printer; sent a pickup order for the bad one. The new one set up very easily and I am happy with it. In fact, I love that it prints envelopes very quickly and I'm using it for that instead of the new Brother laser all-in-one.

thanks
mary
