...oh, but this is a good thing if one's aspiration is producing visual media with cultural relevance and style. Especially since Worship House Media is a clearing house of media from a multiple of producers. The umbrella organization also produces their own brand, Igniter Media. It wakes up my spirit to have this option for a fresh, inside perspective of a visual media leader as to tastes, trends, and media outreach within our culture - techie mags just don't set this mood. It's a niche-within-a-niche publication.

Creativecow.net has a new print magazine - haven't looked at my copy yet. In case you're not familiar, their website has great tutorials, forums and info for those working with video, web. . . lots of stuff (non-church).

Yes. That could be good.

But they reviewed themselves, basically, in comparison to others and weren't up front about the association between the magazine and the web store.

I'm glad you're enjoying the magazine. I can't get past the hypocrisy to look at it.

I feel the same way about Collide and before that, Vision Magazine. Vision is produced by Fowler and chocked full of Fowler ads -- but they aren't up front about being associated. I asked them about it once and I got a very cryptic answer, basically saying, "Maaaaaybe.... what's it to ya?" Ethics in this business isn't a high priority for everyone. That's one reason why I'm so transparent with you guys. I'm not going to pretend to be something I'm not - and I'm not going to double-dip. There are some things you just don't do.

Yes, I agree that was a misleading way to have presented that information. (Guess I'm looking at the pictures and not reading the articles as close as you). The association is clear when subscribing through their site - so I never questioned it as confusing. I may be a little tainted too, in that I've worked for, and in association with, magazines and just know how all that works - the advertisers or underwriters always get the write-ups and win the "best of..." awards. Just the way it is.

...But bless you, Tim, for being different.
