What doesn't look professional about it?

the workspace. The windows within the workspace aren't as organized as they could be. The images for toolbars and stuff aren't very good looking either.

Any suggestions for hardware for dual projector setup.

To my knowledge and after speaking with some media instructors PM Pro is the only church media program on the market that will do that.
We are still working with it and learning new aspects, we hope to utilize the video recording features in time when finances allow the purchase of the equipment.

Hi, It'll really help if I can have some specs of running PM in a dual projector scenario. There's been a lot of chaos concerning the shady specs they provided on their site. Maybe we could all do a what i'm running post. Uhm. here comes mine

PM Pro. 6.21
Panasonic PB-LB55NTE(wireless enabled but not using the wifi interface)
1 Fujitsu Siemens V5535 Celeron M laptop

Presentation Manager

I began using PM about 2 years ago. We use it for two services but I don't use it for announcements because I didn't find that it worked as well as Powerpoint. It's pretty good but one area that I have had difficulty with is during the sermon bring up points that add to a slide. We use volunteers so everything that I create, I have to make simple (right clicks) to make things happen. We have never been able to get the DVD portion going because every time we think we figure it out, PM changes something and my hardware guy is tired of trying different things. I would like to because I like the time editting that it's suppose to have. My time is limited for experimentation.

My question to you is... when I try to capture images to use, they often come out pixellated when they are projected. I don't know if it's image size, for the file type that's messing me up. I was put in this job because of a video background (plus being the only employee) and we had a woman who would create the backgrounds for me but she has left the church so I'm stuck with not knowing how to ask for help, or what kind of files I should look for. Thanks for any help you can give me.... you are the only other person I've met that uses PM.

Our church is currently using Presentation Manager from Creative Lifestyles. All of our media ministry users like it and find it very easy to manipulate. Currently waiting to see an upgrade to use DVD through the laptop vice a separate player.
Has anyone else used this program? Would like to keep information on this particular software updated.
BTW, I am rooting for the SeaHawks.

wow, this is a really old thread. yeah I would say it has to do with the resolution of the image. besides the source of the images is pretty much the only thing that would cause this. what are you capturing the images from?

also in my opinion PM is a pretty poorly developed app. it has some cool features that others don't. but its interface is horrible. it's a buggy app, and they used many things that are straight out of MS visual studio with no real customization.

Personally I like EasyWorship, but Media shout is also a good program and may be a better choice if you decide to upgrade since it uses the same thought of layout as PM, but much better

I'd say so. I haven't been active here, but I just joined a church where they use PM. I've volunteered to help in the media booth, and it looks like running PM will be my best contribution. So I need to master it.

I guess other programs are more popular than PM, since I see virtually no activity here or on PM's forum.

Well, PM is what we have, so I'll dig in and see what I can do.

Presentation Manager

We have used PM at our church for about 4 years now I set it up originally and yes there are some issues with it such as I have never successful in getting the DVD portion to work, but overall it is pretty easy to work with.

I have thought about changing software but we have all volunteers who are less than enthusiastic about learning a new program the barely have this one down and I am afraid they would quit the Tech Team and I don't want to go back to working solo.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to learn the generally positive impression. I've been playing with it a bit, and I see it certainly has a lot of flexibility.

With media, as with many things, you can have too many people contributing. It seems a challenge to have enough people so that the church services are covered, yet enough standardization so that settings aren't being constantly changed. That leads to confusion in the staff and dissatisfaction in the congregation.

There's one guy who could control the sound side. I'm going to wait and see if the choir director (who's at the top of the chain of command) will give me control of the video. If so, then I'll dig in and master PM. If not, I'll be content... well, I'll be willing just to be a slide changer.

I have used Presentation Mgr for the last 4 yrs and it works for our small ministry. However recently our old computer crashed irrecoverably. We thought we copuld just download the software and put ion our license. That didn't work...the software is a trial again.
We do not have the original disk with version 6.142 and Creative doesn't have it on their website.
Any help or info would be appreciated. We bought a liccensed copy and have the info..all we need is the app version 6.142.

Email the developer Frank Meyer fmeyer "at" creativelifestyles "dot" com

You need a new license for each fresh install, and Frank has supplied me with three as I've been trying various combos at home.

I did get the video job at my church and have become fairly comfortable with PM. Frank has been very responsive and helpful as I've pointed out a few bugs and gotten a number of hints about how to get the best usage from the program.

I considered switching to OpenSong, which seems to be the best of the freebies. But there are others who occasionally need to use whatever program is in place, and I'm not up to selling a a replacement.
