| Pointing out the best post... Just wanted to add my two cents. Given how this posts spans many years and several pages on this topic, it appears that the best version/most helpful post has been burried back on Page 3--it was Thepcman's link to a flash version of Family Feud. His version allows for customizable questions/answers, calculates points, has great music, looks real, etc. It's really amazing. We had a Christmas Party the other night with several hundred people and it went over hilariously! |

| Thanks Osborn4, that's the right link (being a newbie to the forum, I wasn't allowed to post it). When we first began discussing doing a Family Feud game for our Christmas Party, we saw the Midnight Oil version. At first we were all set to run it, but as our team took a closer look at it, it seemed to require software that could modify graphic files, plus the tutorials (although helpful) indicated that it would take an extensive amount of time creating each slide for the question, answer, etc. Also, we couldn't see how we could really run it on the fly, including the Bonus Round which inherently needs to be created on the spot. Plus I couldn't see how it did any real calculations (and being a pastor, my math is horrendous!). Whereas, thepcman's link does it all--buzzers, does the three X's correctly, has great music, realistic answer flips, scores automatically, and it's free (which is music to a church's ears). The only minor matter was creating the questions in an "xml file" which we didn't really know what it was--but the issue was quickly resolved by opening it and working with it in Microsoft Notepad--which our team was able to do easily. People are still talking about how much fun it was last week--and the success was in large part due to the software because it added a fun realism to the event. So anyway, those are my two cent. Have a great holiday! |
