Question PowerPoint Notes with images?

Hi folks

So I've been working with manning the PowerPoint in our new church building. The first two weeks I was simply using the same view as what the audience sees. Then I sorted how to use Presenter view and it is oh-so-much BETTER!

So folks are pleased and think we have really kicked things up a notch as there used to be a single person that handled audio as well as PPT.

There is a new duty of controlling some lighting. I was asked if I might be able to handle both PPT as well as lights. We have about six dimmers on the wall next to the PPT PC. So I figured it would be a simple thing to just include notes in the PPT that provided lighting cues. Then I could work that way.

It dawned on me that if I were able to insert some images depicting the lighting adjustments right there in the notes view that it could be a lot more helpful. But the notes area only seems to allow text.

Anyone found an app or whatever that will maybe aid in this? Ideally I'd have the computer set up to handle it all programmatically. But I have to work with what I have.

advTHANKSance for any insights... Rick

I think you're going to have to just come up with your own short hand.

Some, with lighting controllers that accept a midi input, have been able to fire the actual light changes using a midi cued up in thier worship software. But that doesn't sound like where you are at. I've only got a handful of dimmers myself, so I know where you are coming from.

Thanks for the reply Joel

Yes, in a perfect world, I'd have wads of cash to use and I'd have this lovely computer driven show. But we all must face and deal with what we have in a creative way, eh?

Actually, last night I happened across a product that seems to allow it to work. Haven't had time to fully test it yet, but it looks promising.

It's called a "Power Show" add in. You can see it at the link below.

I presume you are talking about Feature 4: View presentation and formatted notes on separate monitors - keep notes in sync with the slide show in Powershow. I don't see anywhere that mentions inserting images into the notes format - just formatted text and allows you to keep it in sync with the projected images. I've not used the program - just going from the description.

Here's one thought that would allow you to use images - create your cues on an actual slide and then mark the slide as hidden. You will still see it in presenter view in the upcoming slides - a different color background will help grab your attention - but not get displayed.
