What's going to happen to the person who put Comic Sans in those files?

We are a Deaf Church so we need to project the scripture and keep everyone eye to the screen with Pastor standing next to it because we use sign langauage and they would miss out a lot what Pastor have to say if they look down at their Bible.

Same issue here.

We do one verse per slide, but usually show all of the veerses. Just picking one verse, out of a passage, helps people remember that one verse instead of the whole passage. Sometimes the whole context is needed to understand that one point.

Have mercy on the soul who uses Comic Sans. It is the Devil's own font. Papyrus on the other hand is the official font of the Dead Sea scrolls. You will receive an extra sparkly jewel in your crown for using it every chance you get.

I actually love both of those fonts used sparingly in the right context. ::looks around for lightening to strike::

What I do need help on is learning how to put scriptures on the screen in a simple instruction format!!! I want to help the people understand where the pastor is reading from in the bible. Thanks for assistance!!! I forgot to be specific, I'm either looking for to put scripture in powerpoint program or find a simple software program to project scriptures on the screen!!!

We use power point and I usually get the verses from an online bible source...its a simple cut/paste into a text box on a power point slide.

Since I originally posted this, our pastor is realizing that 20 verses on the screen doesn't always help to make his point. Sometimes less is more....!

That's great. Sometimes a little explanation or demo can do a world of good.

Our minister likes us to put the entire scripture passage on screen. During our service, the only time heads are down is for prayer. Hymns and scripture get completely displayed. We try not to go past 5-6 lines of text per slide but occasionally have to push it. Normally one or two verses per slide. The downside to this is that you sometimes have many slides for the scripture and the volunteers running the system have to be on the ball with the changes. It's a bit of a balance; too many words on screen are hard to read yet too few make for lots of slide changes.

That being said, our minister doesn't read a portion of scripture and then expand. We read the scriptures and then the sermon ties them together. During the sermon we don't display the scriptures (they've already been up once) so that the congregation can focus on the minister and the sermon.

Occasionally we use a video or image during the sermon but our system is mostly used to display the words that are to be sung, spoken or read by the congregation.
