Yes. The viewer can be used. But, of course, there is no editing available, then.

You can always check Ebay for Powerpoint 2007.

Just stay away from the Home and Student version. That is not licensed for commercial or non-profit.

How about using OpenOffice? it is free and I believe you can save them as powerpoint files to import into other programs (media shout, etc)

I've just looked at the viewer, but you cant use presenters mode etc, it just loads it up. It just loaded up on my main screen, rather than the secondary one, I'm sure it can be made to defualt to the second screen, but its not designed for multi screen.

The big problem with open office is that it doesnt render it as powerpoint does, cutting the end off some bullet point lists, placing images over text etc. Of course, its fine if you created the presentation in open office, but most people use power point.

I emailed microsoft and they said that charitys and enducational establishminents qualify for a special lince. They said that some churches would fall into the criteria, but its up to the distrubuter to decide that. I'm just waiting for a reply from a local distrubuter now.

Phil, see this current thread on Microsoft Charity licensing.

Licensing for Microsoft Office

You can't buy just one license of Powerpoint to open an "agreement" with Microsoft. The miniumum purchase is 5 licenses of something.
