Dual screen Power point

Is there a way that I can sync my computer with the image from the projector when using power point? I would like the image on the computer to change when we advance slides.

Thanks and Merry Christmas

Eric

You can do that in the presenter view. Go to SlideShow then set up show. There you will click on the box that says show presenter view.

Is it the same computer you're using to run PowerPoint?

Are you using the presenter view or not?

Don't be surprised, though, if your computer screen lags behind the projector slightly. PPT is designed so that priority goes to the secondary screen (or projector). The faster and more memory the computer has, the less of a lag you will get. It also depends on how graphic intensive your slides are as well.

Remember that install PowerPoint Viewer before installing PowerPoint.Because if you install both, they will conflict and you can't open ppt or pps file as usual.

O.K. so presenter view will sync the computer with the projector, I'll have to try that this Sunday. However, I would like to know what the NEXT slide is going to look like. I can see the current slide on the screen. I have a print out of the slide show at the desk, but there are times the printout is wrong. Can I set the computer to display one slide ahead of the presentation?

Presenter view does this using a 3 column format:
  • Left column shows a thumbnail list of slides in your show, similar to the 'normal' view when creating your ppt. Current slide is in a bold outline.
  • Center column shows the current slide at the top. Below that are a couple forward and back buttons as well as some slide info (slide 3 of 23 for instance). Below that is a handy little notes area that can show typed notes relating to the current slide (or next, whatever you want to put there).
  • Right column has 'End Show,' 'Blank Screen,' and 'Keyboard Shortcuts' quick buttons.
The thumbnail list is a bit small, so you may not be able to see EXACTLY what is on the next slide down to every word or detail, though.

I guess a picture is worth a thousand words, so attached is a picture of the Presenter View.

Thanks,

I will try presenter view on Sunday. Hopefully the thumbnails will be big enough to give a decent idea of what the next slide looks like.
