| Getting Joomla to play nice with podcasts Hello all, looking for some advice here on which way to go. Looking to start podcasting on our church's site running Joomla 1.5. We currently post audio on the site by dropping into a folder. I'm not the webmaster so I don't know what plugin that is for Joomla we use. I would like to be able to do the same thing with the podcasting. Currently my front runners are Bible Study, sermonSpeaker, and Podcast Suite. I've also considered Podcast Generator and SermonCast as backup options along with a php script I am planning on tinkering with. So if anyone out there has any experience with these guys and would be able to give some advice that would be spectacular. Our site was just redone after being down for a while so we're not in a huge hurry but I think it would be nice if we could it up and running soon.

| We use JosDewplayer to play the MP3's of our sermons. I use FeedForAll to build the XML file that's by RSS readers, iTunes, etc. to retrieve the sermon "podcast". It's just another way of accessing the same MP3 that we deliver via the embedded player on the website. |

| Our church uses SermonSpeaker. Works great...and the developers have a good forum where end-users can submit questions when help is needed. Go to ascensionfdl.org and click on the "Podcasts" button on the left side of your screen under the "Resources" heading. |

| I use Bible Study extensively, its been bullet proof since I got it configured. http://www.gallowayumc.org/ Peace, Kevin

| MP3 Browser For mp3 listening and downloading I just recently started using "MP3 Browser". It looks very similar to Sermon Speak. It's a plugin that uses a short script posted in an article. The plugin then ists all of the MP3s in a specified folder. The titles and information are taken from the mp3's ID3 tags. Nice thing about this program is I don't have to do any website coding. All I do is create the MP3, tag it (as I normally do), and then upload it to the folder of my choice. Ben |
