XML Help!

I'm having trouble with an xml feed. Here is the link. (Will Add podcast to itunes) I've looked over this feed time and time again, but I can't figure out the problem. In itunes, it says that there is no xml located at .../podcast/podcast.xml. That is true, but I told it to point to .../podcast/2008/podcast.xml.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you used FeedValidator.org to validate it?

Here's the results I get.

I use FeedEditor for maintaining our church's feed. Been very pleased with it.

Yes, the feed only comes up with a few errors, but none of them relevant to my problem.

Thanks.

Are you talking about on the Apple podcast setup page or something else?

If it's the Apple submit page, then it's probably not a good idea to change your podcast URL.

It would be better if you did an URL re-write (.htaccess file) on your server if you want to change your feed address every year.

You might consider using FeedBurner, I started off down the path that you are going down and I found FeedBurner's instructions on setting up podcast to be quite helpful. You won't get any tracking data whatsoever from Apple, but using FeedBurner I can see how it's being used.

Here's how it looks on our website. I'd be glad to share our .htaccess file, if you decide to go that direction.

I'm talking about the podcast folder in itunes. When it tries to load, it gives me that message. What we're trying to do is a redirect from our 07 to 08 xml. If you could send me that .htaccess, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

basically the .htaccess file at your site root needs to contain the following line:

Code:
 Redirect permanent /podcast/2007/podcast.xml http://malta.globat.com/~fbcbiloxi.org/podcast/2008/podcast.xml

When I put that tag into the .htaccess, all the pages have a document error. (404 I believe) Any suggestions?

Thanks.

What is the location of your .htaccess file?

Did one already exist or did you create it?

Also, where is the redirect from

Code:
http://malta.globat.com/~fbcbiloxi.org
to
Code:
http://fbcbiloxi.sonstone.com/
happening?

That could be part of the problem. Didn't realize it until I went to your site.

The .htaccess is in our root directory of our site. Should I create one for the podcast folder only? The reidrect is to the globat server. The sonstone one is our other web host provider. We have our main site hosted with sonstone on a cms, and use the globat for storage only.

I'm pretty sure you can only redirect locally with an .htaccess.

Any redirecting will have to be done on the site where your XML file is located.
