| my 2cents, if you are shooting at very high ISO settings (1600, 3200, etc) use a noise reduction software like "Noise Ninja" works great for me. All good tips in this thread. i agree with using RAW. 99% of what I shoot is in RAW. Allows for much better initial exposure adjustments and some noise reduction without "damaging" the original image. You can always revert to the untouched image if you want to reset your settings. After you've done my work on RAW I then convert to JPEG for my personal images and do my image editing in photoshop, or convert to 16bit TIFF for my commercial images and then into Photoshop for the retouching and artistic work. |

I'm kinda new here and didn't notice how old the thread was, but hey...whatever. Photography's my thing So why not contribute.I was just in San Diego on vacation in January, and I likely saved about 40 images that would have been unusable if shot in basic JPEG, but in RAW I got some very nice images. ITs' worth the storage space and a little extra work time ![]() |
