What I Meant Was: Public Cell Phone Text-To-Screen. NOT media presentation software

So I began this thread earlier and I may have misled you about what I meant and as it's possible folks may not revisit the other thread, I thought I'd start a new one for clarity. I mean software that allows the congregation to text onto the A/V screen. NOT Mediashout/PP/SongShow/ etc.....

So does anyone use them and what is it?

I went ahead and closed the other thread to avoid confusion (or minimize it anyway. )

Do you want to be able to preview and approve before they do on the screen? Or do you want them to go direct?

Ha Ha Whenever I have people text me during a service I always have jokers out there so I would NEVER have something go live that wasn't screened. Of course, maybe they would behave better if they knew it was going directly to the screen but probably not.

I think ProPresenter has some sort of twitter integration...

I believe the Ross Xpression has Twitter & Text message intergration too. But I would hope that someone makes a downstream keyer that will do this as a stand-alone dedicated box, for those that do not have a CG or are not ProPresenter users (assuming ProPresenter supports this feature).

If twitter would work for you and you didn't want to screen, you could just put a browser window up with the twitter feed, creating a special twitter account for the event. Also, much presentation software can show a live web page w/o having to drag a browser over to the screen.

But not everyone has twitter, so that may not work.

No, and if such a thing was useful, it would need to be screened, there is too big a chance that if the local anti-Christian element found out about this kind of thing, it would not be pretty, as they would be sending anti-Christian messages laced with profanity.

Screened definitely. Fire Text looks like it will let you ban words and phrases but I don't know much about it. It would be useful within our services.
