Easislides

Is it my imagination or has support for Easislides kind of disappeared. Since the beta version came out plus one upgrade everything has stopped. I have had an issue that I have listed a few times but get no response, even directly to them and not on the forum. I love this software and want to continue with it but sure seems like everything has just stopped.

You have to remember that Wain has a full time job too and his webhost was doing maintenance last month so that has probably pushed things back a little. He makes a note of all the bugs and most of what he gets hit with on the forum is just feature requests. Plus this is still the beta. It isn't ready for prime time yet since it is still in development. Just give him some time and he'll get it done.

Sometimes we as humans do get impatient. I just was concerned that I had not heard from anyone on my issue. One of my major weaknesses.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't respond to each issue. I reported one and he responded to me but that isn't always the case. My issue he couldn't replicate. If he is able to figure out what yours is he may not necessarily give you a response. If he finds it and is able to fix it he will likely outline in the bug fixes in the next beta release.

Are you using the beta every week at church instead of 4.0.4?

I was using 4.0.4 and was trying the beta. Either one is working fine other than I was trying to get the lyrics monitor to work. Since I don't have the additional video card I was playing with Netcast. I was hoping to get Netcast to work so I didn't have to install the card and run the extra video line. I just neet to be more patient.

The netcast feature works fine for me. What is it that you are experiencing trouble with?

It works fine here at home also. The only difference between here and church is the one at church has the additional video card. The one at home doesn't. I am currently using Easislides with timed slides instead of manually advancing. Where the output lyrics show there is no advancment so I don't have anything in Netcast. Now the lyrics are showing up fine on the screen and change perfectly according to my timings. If I switch to single monitor and no secondary monitor all works fine. I guess what I need is for someone to set a song with automatic timings and see if Netcast works then with having a secondary monitor (projector) working.

So you're basically wanting to know if the timings will work over netcast? I don't see why it shouldn't. Any display ran through netcast (live or lyrics) should do exactly what the server is doing whether it be manually or automatically.

Well that's what I thought too. I have tried everything I can think of to make this work but have not had any luck. I would like for someone to try it and see if the issue is on my end or with the beta version.

Do they change when you do it manually? Does it display anything at all? Have you tried both the live and lyrics monitor over netcast? Are you trying it with a computer connected via wifi?

I'm going to fire up my wife's computer and give it a go and see what it does for me.

So here's what I've figured out. The problem isn't netcast I believe. When you are running a song with timings set in the live pane on your control screen whichever part of the song it is on doesn't get highlighted in yellow as it would if you were running it manually. This is how the live or lyrics display ran through netcast get their information to display. It is only what is highlighted on the control screen. So if only the first part is highlighted that is all that will display. But if it is one computer with two or three displays (ie. no netcast) then it should work no problem. I will post this info over on the Easislides forum so it can hopefully get taken care of. Hopefully the little bit of extra info will get it fixed faster too. Don't worry though, he'll get it done.

This is true on the control screen. I noticed that the highlighted part of the live pane doesn't move. A simple issue to show someone but a pain to try and explain. I'm glad someone else now knows what I mean.
