| I pull AVCHD into FCP pretty regularly. I just pull the SDHC card from the camera, plug it into the side of my iMac, launch Log & Transfer in FCP, pull up each clip in the preview window, name it, set in and out points and add it to the import batch. When it's done importing I have a bin full of Prores 422 clips ready for editing. Some people rave about other cameras that save in .mov files because they can just plug in the cards and start editing, but I can't see that working in reality since there's a LOT of workflow optimization and organization that happens in that log and transfer step. Not to mention how foolish it is to edit your source media.
