Adobe Premiere CS4 -edge feathering

Did they change the edge feathering command on CS4? All I can get is the top and bottom of the image to feather and not the sides. Is there an option for this command now to feather the side edges too?
Thanks
Bruce

I am/was putting an image over a background and wanted to feather the edges of the image to fade into the background. Like I said the top and bottom feathered nicely, but the sides do not. They ramianed with very sharp edges.

Did you cut out the image you are trying to feather from a bigger image? Make sure you erased all around the image you are trying to feather, in other words check the box around the image when moving it that it's tight around the image, if not there can be a pixels left out further that you can't see and that is stopping the feather from reaching the sides of your image.

Just a thought!

Another thing you can do is use the eraser and use a large (200) feathered brush and erase the edges around your image!
