Need Help with Importing

Hi,
I am trying to put together a slide show/ video for a funeral tomorrow. Some one gave me a mini DVD with an interview that they shot. It looks like a mini DVD that came from a camcorder. What camera they used I do not know. I tried to import it into Adobe Premiere CS3 and Premiere does not recognize it. It will play using Windows Media player though. Any suggestions... I need to get this done tongiht!!
Thanks
Bruce

Have you tried using Windows Moviemaker to import the video clip?

some of the mini-vd camcorders, if I remember correctly, have to have a special software loaded to be able to read it...

you need to run down what type of cam was used to make it. If that doesn't work, then I'd see what's available for reading sony, canon, and panasonic mini-dvd discs.

No for MovieMaker

MovieMaker does not see the files either. I see the two files folders "DVDCam" and "Video_TS" but that is it.

It's similar to any other DVD. You will have to get a DVD player or the camera from the person who originally shot the footage and do an analog capture.

Transcoding video

You have to transcode the video from a format that plays from a DVD to a format that plays on your computer. Google Moviemaker Transcoding. There is a great Microsoft Moviemaker blog by a guy that steps you through the process. You also will need to probably buy a inexpensive transcoding software program.
This is probably too much to to tonight, however. May be best to just play the video back from a camera, or DVD player.
