Thief in the Night Video! Can't find anywhere! Hello all! About 6 years ago, some website gave away a free video that I THOUGHT was called something like "Thief in the Night". It started out with a girl in her bed upstairs in her house in the dark. Theres a loud thud or bang and she gets up. Slowly she searches her house and at the very end you see a hand come out of the darkness, and wrap around her mouth. That's the end. I believe it had to do with the Thief in the night scripture, and may have had that scripture at the end of the video. I have searched high and low for the video and have scoured the internet. Does anyone have ANY clue where I could find it?? I am needing to use it for tomorrow's sermon. Thanks!

I have that video! I remember this as being a freebie/giveaway. I just found this video and uploaded it to the church server here. Right-click and select "Save target/link as". Let me know when you've snagged it so I can pull it off. It's 71MB and runs 3:13.

This film was an early 1970's blockbuster at churches everywhere. They rented the film in 16mm and viewed it in churches all over. The film is by Russ Doughten, and was the first in a series ... although I never saw more than the first one. I was the film librarian at a major west coast Christian film library during this time. We had *16* copies of Thief in the Night and we couldn't keep up with demand even then. They'd be returned in the morning, and we had only hours to check them in, clean them, fix them (because, well, 16mm as a medium was only SO sturdy) and get them back out in the afternoon. Along with processing all the other films for the day. A quick search at Google brought up his web site where you can purchase the digitally remastered state of the art 1970's movie on DVD. http://www.rdfilms.com/catalog.php Check with Russ what usage he allows with purchase, he's a GREAT guy. deb P.S. Thanks for the flashback ... I'm now going to be singing "I wish we'd all been ready" for the rest of the night... I tell you, state of the art 1970's glorious technology! The church hadn't seen anything like it up to that time. They lined up to see the film, they lined up to show the film, and they lined up at the end to get saved.
