Don't forget to use your Plus

Hey guys and gals. We really appreciate all of our MO Plus members. You're extra support means a lot to us.

Aside from getting a cool membership card and the Monthly Freebie Disk, you also have those codes to get discounts on media. Unfortunately people are making purchases without using them. Although we make more on those purchases, we designed Plus to save our regulars money. Don't forget to use them!

If you forget your number, look on your card.

Can you expand on the "Monthly live online consultations with Jason and Len"?

How far in advance do those have to be planned? Do you basically look at something we have done and offer suggestions?

We've not done much with this aspect of MO Plus. We were offering monthly chats, but not many were coming. So at this point we're doing it by request. Just this week we did a private consultation in the chatroom with one of our Plus members.

His request was about helping him find a way to represent visually the churches new mission statement. We brainstormed metaphors, talked about things we've done in the past, and whatever hit us as we chatted. In the end he walked away with a clearer direction about what he wanted to do.

So we spent about 45 minutes discussing the topic that he determined about a week earlier.

We're open to discussing just about anything the Plus member wants to discuss. In most cases we'd only need a few days to schedule it.

Does that help?

Jason

That sounds like about what I was expecting.

We're trying to figure out how to tie our Vision Statement and Misison Statement together, preferably visibly. May have to discuss this with the Powers That Be.

However that could take several discussions.

That link gives a 404 page now.

Gosh, I'd forgotten about Plus, don't know if I ever used mine a few years ago when you first offered it. I'll have to look at it again.

Perhaps another idea in addition to online chat sessions would be a phone-based conference call.

Through a NFP group I volunteer with (www.HonorFlightChicago.org, takes WW2 vets to D.C. to see the WW2 Memorial for free (totally donation-based)), we use www.FreeConferenceCall.com for committee meetings and a variety of things when a number of people need to get together. While it uses a long-distance (L-D) #, since most cellphone and many home phone bundles include free L-D, it's just about cost-free. Handles up to 96 people for up to 6 hrs. Totally free...and it can optionally record the call for those who missed it to call in later and hear it all (or you can download the call, too).

Just thinkin'...

Blessings to all!

Frank

I'm guessing this is a plan that came and went. They do not list the "plus" membership on their Products page.

It's a great group! The national group, www.HonorFlight.org, now has about 70 "hubs" around the U.S., and they're hoping to have at least one in every state by the end of '09.

Honor Flight Chicago took about 300 vets in '08, our first year, and are now reserving entire planes for '09, hoping for 500 +/-. In addition to the 80-ish vets/trip there's quite a lot of other people, their Guardians, mostly, who take care of 2-3 vets during the daylong trip, plus bus captains, LOTS of wheelchairs, and airline-approved oxy tanks.

Here's our new PSA developed this summer, partly due to the kindness of Gary Sinese: http://tinyurl.com/btzk37
