Media Software

Anybody have any good ideas for media software? My church currently has a large library of miscellaneous pictures, audio files, video files, etc. Does anybody have an idea of cheap (free is better) software that will help me get everything organized, as well as hopefully have a server type install as well? I'm looking at MediaPortal or J River Media Center, but I'm leaning towards MediaPortal because it's free. I like that I can install it on our server, and then allow anyone to use it. Basically, we have one main computer that runs our PowerPoints, etc, which is Windows 7. Our pastor has a Mac, and our school just bought Macs for everyone. So, between Mac and Windows use it's about half and half usage. We'd also like to keep everything on our Drobo. One last thing, is that I'd like to be able to make a list of all of our files, so that our pastor can see what we have when she's planning worship. I'd go with tje internet based remote control route, but my church doesn't have internet. Let me know of any ideas. Thank you!
