Access Database Issue

Hello All,
I use an Access database to keep up with church Attendance. Last Sunday when I tried to open it. It would not open and gave me an error message about two machines trying to change a file at once and just took me to the opening screen when you open access. I tried to compact and repair and it still does the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dustin

In the directory where you have your Access database see if there's a file that's named the same name as the database name but with a lck extension. If no one is in the database at that point delete out the lock file and you should be able to get back in.

I second Brian's suggestion. In older versions of Access it may have an LDB extension. Which version of Access are you using?

Thanks

There is no other file like that in the folder. I even moved the DB to another computer and it still gives me the same error. I have tried importing in to a new access file and that does not work. Please help if you can!

Thanks Dustin

Any transaction might be pending, so first check it out and then see if the problem persists.
