Lecturn/Podium Mics

hey all.

wondering what wired, lecturn mics you would recommend?

we've used an Audio Technica AT857QMa for 12 or 15 years now and if it broke tomorrow I realized I don't really know what the go to options out there are.

I also know there's a lot of trashy mics out there.

so, what would you guys get if you were looking for a quality lecturn mic?

thanks.

Yup, the U857's would be my choice, just choose your mounting option, neck length and if you want a cardioid or UniLine pattern.

We have two mics on the podium one is a traditional "podium mic" AT I think. The other is a Crown PCC 160 It serves as a backup, but it has some nice advantages. It is invisible to the congregation. It works when the talker is to far from the podium for the "real" mic It works better when the talker if shifting his weight from one foot to the other. It works for people who won't adjust the mic to there height.

Over all very handy. We keep it on a separate channel and use it only when needed.

If my PCC 160's were presently on the inside of the lid of our piano at The Gospel Barn, they'd be on the podium at church.
Our pastor has a tendency to purposefully blow plosives in our podium mic for effect. I'd like to throw him off sometime by using the 160's instead.
Always thinking...
