| The reason is a cough-prone pastor. I rarely catch it in time to mute him coughing. Two problems with that solution: 1. The audio lines would leave the muting unit and travel over unshielded wire to the switch location. 2. The battery will die eventually. Phantom power delivers enough power to run an old school condenser mic. Since we now only use it to power some solid state electronics in the mic, certainly there is enough power left to run a single led... or am I missing something? I've left a few posts in an audio electronics forum that ought to solve this. I'll be sure to post back here with the final schematic. thanks |
