Mic Popping

I have a A-T U853R that starts to pop a lot about 15-20 minutes after it has been powered up. To remedy the problem, I mute it, reapply phantom power and it starts to work again.

Any ideas on what it might be?

How long have you had the unit? What is the HVAC settings during the week?

I'm not really sure. It's been sitting in storage for some time as a spare. During the week HVAC is about 78...on Sunday it's 70.

make sure the contacts are cleaned well. That model is only 4-5 years old, so any oxidation shouldn't be too bad. Also, unscrew the element and make sure that both the mounting threads and the internal contacts are good and clean.
Let me know if you think you need an RMA for service.
