Anybody Having Problems With Their Wireless Systems Since the DTV Switchover?

Just checking to see if anyone has had any problems with their wireless systems since the DTV switchover. We haven't experienced any problems at all with our 14 Sennheiser G2 100 "B" frequency units. Sennheiser came out with a new G3 unit and is discontinuing the G2 series...G2 series going for steep discounts around here...it may be time to pick a couple more G2 units before they're all gone!
Blessings!
Mike

We have frequency agile Shure's and had to change 2 mics to prevent collision with a DTV station that came on line June 12th. We did that in advance of the changeover and haven't had any problems...

We've not had any issues yet at my church, and no issues at The Gospel Barn.

Nope and most people should not. They would have had the problems already, as most stations have been transmitting in digital and analog for a while. The big switch was turning off the analog.

The big issues for those in the 700MHz band will arise within the next 2-5 years (depending upon your market) when the networks for all of these other wireless devices come on-line. Some of these will not be built until 2012.

Mostly, airwaves probably got CLEANER and more free right after the switch (all the analog channels went dead).

Like pdc said, more issues will likely creep up in the next few years as all the freed space gets filled back up.

Actually, in the Chicago market, there were a number of digital stations that changed (due to adjacent channel noise) on June 12th. For example, WBBM-TV (old analog RF channel 2) which had been operating their DTV station on RF channel 3 moved to RF channel 12 -- which would have been adjacent to WTTW-TV's analog station on RF channel 11.

Thats why we didn't have problems with the collision prior to June 12th -- the DTV broadcaster was provisionally operating on a different freq and only moved to their final assignment on June 12th.

One of the churches I contracted with is having lots of problems. Of course they run 60+ wireless units at a time. We speculate that a lot of people waited till the last minute to switch their wireless and so we are getting a bunch of frequency collisions.

60?! Well, they are going to have a hard time adjusting to no wireless mics aren't they?

60+ wireless units. That is mics, IEMs, instrument packs, etc. They would have a ton of wires if they had to move away from wireless. *lol* They did their switchover to new equipment 6 months ago (I posted about the problems they originally had on here getting everything set up). But we think everyone else waited until the last minute.

So now they have to sit down and do a new frequency sweep.
