Steve, I was wondering what you recommend for mounting sony brc h700 robotic cameras. We are setting up at a hotel, so we can't mount to the walls. Tripods are not high enough, we may be able to clamp to a lighting rig, but not sure how. We have a baby plate mount coming with the cameras. Thanks for any help.

    Steve,
Can you direct me to on-line demos or examples of robotic cameras being used in a church service? We started out with an EVI-D30 but have since gone with a Panasonic DVX100B & an HVX200 (mixed in post production). Our sanctuary is running at near capacity, volunteer help is in short supply, your posting about using robotics with a Tricaster (we stream one camera live), and recent inquiries from church members leads me back to researching robotic cameras. I need to be convinced of their abilities before considering cost. Any help would be appreciated.

    steve,

i have a couple questions regarding the kramer 709/710 setup for s-video over cat5. we have used vga over cat5 and we re having problems with signal dropping randomly and getting a blue screen. signal is coming from a mx-70 via s-video which is scaled to vga, which is then distributed via a d.a. and cat5 baluns. spent a lot of money on good baluns (intelix vga-uhr).

looking to eliminate the vga conversion and just take our s-video into a d.a. and then distribute over the cat5 runs of roughly 150' and 200'. the kramer is a significant price jump versus cheaper baluns. i'm willing to do this if it is very likely that we will have a fix utilizing this route. seems that the vga resolution was problematic for our benq 727 projectors.

the kramer 709 says something about "the 710 receiver has a loop out and termination switch allowing several 710s to be placed on the same TP cable driven by a 709." does that mean i can drive 2 proj's with 1 709 via another cat5 cable connecting 2 710's? seems like it to me.

lastly, you mentioned in a thread i saw that you could get a deal on them. they are each listed as $156 on fullcompass and i know if i call they'll give me a lower number, as is their custom. what can you do?

    thanks,
    drew

Steve, reading all these threads looks like your the guy to talk to. i have $5,000 budget for a video system for my church. I wanted to do a fixed camera at first going into a switcher, then i saw PTZs, and now I am looking at pro consumer dvx 100b or should i go HD with the HMC-150????

The good PTZs are expensive. I would love to do two ptz into a switcher.
