There is, but you'd have to jailbreak your AppleTV. We ended up replacing our AppleTVs with two Mac Minis. This gives us complete remote desktop control and the ability to use Automator to control every aspect of the presentation, even scheduling when the computers turn themselves on and shut themselves down.

In our last conversation, we talked about using apple tv's as digital signage. After pushing the content via Itunes, do you have to goto the remote and press play?
Is there a way to automate the process? autoplay-autoloop-autofullscreen?

Hey, I noticed that you guys use AppleTV's for digital signage. Can you explain how that works? I have a 42" LCD in my foyer, fed VGA from headless Dell in a closet VLC in full screen. It crashes more than i would like. Do the AppleTVs work standalone or do they have to be streamed to? i know very little about AppleTV, so please help.
    thanks Jeff

Petereit, I have always enjoyed reading your advice...and even found it useful.lol. I noticed that you are 'volunteer' tv tech director. 1. How do you keep volunteers faithful and 2. What do you do in your real job?

HELP... Peter, this is my first time opening the box and turn on the mixer.. AV-HS300G. I am surprised that the Component (analog) is optional. Anyway, question.. so far my camera is only have HDMI output same with my PC.. So what I did is connect that HDMI output to the DVI input (using converter).. but my problem is I select channel 6 and I got no image what so ever. What did I do wrong? PS I am using component output for all my monitor.. is there any selector on the mixer to switch between SDI or component output for the monitor?

    Thanks, YOGA

As of right now we have one camera. (canon GL2 [SD]) but we are wanting to get an HD canon [vixia HF S21] http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...elTechSpecsAct
because we heard the Composite signal will not hold up as well over long distance. And it would be nice to have HD. The overflow room is 150' away (about 200' cable run after we go on the roof and back down) and for now is the only room that needs the synced audio/video. We are planning on doing a 70-volt system for speakers in the nursery and library (we only want audio in those). But we are open to putting TV's in there later. The OverFlow room will have an HD projector and an Amp/Receiver which will have the speakers for the room connected to it. We thought Cat6 would be good enough to run. I have been looking at SDI since you said it, and have not found much except a lot of different prices. Thanks for your help.

Hey Man, I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction with SDI. I think there are different types, what do you recommend and where should I buy it from. I see a bunch of different prices. Is there a page that you recommend that can inform me a little bit more?
