Hi, I see you are very experienced and knowledgeable regarding mixing boards. I hope you can help me. I'm a novice at managing the mixing board for my church, though I have been doing it for 2 years now. My skills are basic at best. We use a Carvin Concert Series C1644 mixing board and currently record to tape via RCA ports. We would like to add a PC to save the recordings for CDs. I added 2 "Y" connectors to the RCA ports for TAPE OUT L & R to keep the connections to our tape player while using the 2ND connections to add a cable (this cable is designed to be used to take audio from a media device via headphone jack to the RCA connection of a speaker/amplifier) that runs to the mic connection on a laptop. This didn't work. Using Audacity, we failed to detect the audio to be recorded. Just silence. Do you have any suggestions?
