I would just like to say that although I love MediaShout I wish it had the ability to handle transparent layers. While they are at it I would appreciate multiple foreground layers (is that an oxymoron - I mean you can only have one foreground can't you?) too. Oh well, I should be happy with what I've got.

I pastor a small church and at the present time I also prepare all of the media for Sunday. It is only a fraction of my job, though, and I keep forgetting procedures on things that I don't do too often. I guess that's what happens when you get old.

I hate having to re-learn something I've already done. I should get in the practice of writing a manual for every procedure I do but I know I won't take the time to do that. I'll just keep muddling along, learning things over and over again....

Wow, that was rough. We ended up with no one on drums yesterday. To top it off we were singing a lot of songs that we really rely on a drummer to help us out on. We have three drummers we use and all of them were unable to play.

This Sunday I'm going to use a dry erase board during my sermon. I know some might consider that mighty low tech but it does have its advantages.

I think I focus a little better when a speaker is actually writing or drawing while he is saying something at the same location. The connection between voice to hand to board is visible. When a speaker says something and then a drawing or text appears on a screen there is a little bit of confusion in the brain. You end up looking at the...

I led worship this Sunday which involves moving up to the front of the stage and I just couldn't hear my guitar up there. During sound check I kept asking for more in the monitor until it finally sounded right but then it seemed to fade away. I assume the sound guy wasn't liking the mix (our monitors bleed a bit into the house) and was turning my guitar back down.

On the other hand, maybe it is my playing he doesn't like. In any case, next week I'll be moving back to my regular...
