upgrading to 4.5 from 3.5

A couple of questions... I can't believe this question hasn't been asked, but I couldn't find a thread for it... anyway, our church just bought a new Dell/Media Shout 4.5 bundle running Windows 7 to replace our old Compaq running MS 3.5 and Windows XP. We have a huge song library that we want to be able to migrate over. Can this be done at all? If so, what are the steps? I very seriously have looked everywhere and can find nothing that deals with this. I may be myopic but, any help would be appreciated. We also have a few scripts that we use over and over. Can these be migrated to the new system too? If so, again, how?

Thanks,
Jeff Brandon

Yeah, that's all I've found so far... upgrading software only. We have our old 3.5 on an old computer with an old OS. We have our new 4.5 on a new computer with a new OS. There are issues to be overcome such as file paths and the like. I'm looking for something to help me to be able find everything to make the transition.

What we ended up doing was having a data transfer done from the old PC to the new one. Then we just went through manually and added all the file paths. We have a giant library as well, and it took a little bit of time to get everything right. Good luck!

See the link in the post above. Once you've exported the songs, take the file you just created from the old computer to the new one, then continue to follow the instructions.

For everyone's knowledge here... we've completed the conversion. A little info about the process: It was not as seamless as the "link above" sounds, as was my assumption. However, there is no seamless method to be found. We did the "export / import" thing but, since the paths are not the same on the two computers (different OS's), we had to reconnect all our backgrounds and audio files that were previously attached to the song file. Sure, if you don't have anything attached, it's seamless. However, we did, so not so much.
Thanks everyone for the effort to help.
