.SSC files?

Hi,

My youth pastor sent me some .ssc files from a company and he wants me to edit the scripts based on our youth group's needs. I am an EasyWorship user, and I figured .ssc files worked with MediaShout. So, I downloaded the MediaShout Mac trial, but it only opens .shout files. How can I open these .ssc files?

Thanks!

Looks like that a MediaShout V3 file.

Looks like you may need to unpack it. Look around for something like that.

Here's an article that tells about the reverse process (that you may need.

Opening a Packed V4 Script in V3

It also says, "You can open a packed version 3.x script directly in version 4 by default."

Not knowing anything about Mediashout, the first thing I'd try is renaming the files you have with a ".shout" extension. I wouldn't count on it to work, but it'd be the first thing I tried.

I did try renaming it to a .shout, with no luck.

I tried using that link to "unpack" it with again no luck, because I am using Mediashout for Mac, and it doesn't have this feature.

It appears the trouble is that the .ssc file is from Mediashout for Windows, and you are trying to open it with Mediashout for Mac. That doesn't work. You'll have to boot into windows and download a windows version of Mediashout.

Otherwise, they will have to export the list of songs as a data file and then you can import them into MS for Mac, but that only gets you the text.

Sounds like your youth group doesn't need a mediashout script.

Can he get the content in any other form?

We still actively use V3. Send me a private message with a link or we can exchange emails. I'd gladly break it down for you.
