Question MediaShout & Music

I have MS 3.5 (I don't have a clue which build it is because I am at home). In the past few weeks it has suddenly stopped uploading music which we had been adding as background to our announcement loop. I know the music works because I can open it and listen to it in RealPlayer but when I try to open it in MS nothing happens. At first it was only a few songs here and there but now none of my song files work. Any ideas???

Haven't used version 3 for a while but the first thing is to probably make sire that the music has not been muted in MS. I would also post this at the MS forum as they have tech people that monitor issues there. This is the link:

Have you thought about uninstalling realplayer? I know it has caused issues for us in the past. Besides that I am not sure what else to try. I think MS uses your Windows default music player so if Realplayer is playing it...I am not sure why its not working. Mabe try installing VLC player and making that your default music player. I think MS tech support would offer that as one solution. Have experience with them lol.

I would agree with Joe that Real Player is probably the issue.

MediaShout uses your system decoders and filters for audio and video playback, and some decoders and filters will not play nice with MediaShout. RealPlayer is notorious for not playing nice with other applications.

I would get rid of RealPlayer, use windows media player or itunes for audio playback and install a third party codec pack called K-Lite mega codec pack. Here's a link to directions for the K-Lite installation:
