For general computer health, seek out MalwareBytes and ccleaner and download and run them.

I have MS4 and have been struggling with the same problem. The PC is not under powered 8gb RAM with 1gb dedicated RAM on video card. I recently updated the k-lite codec pack last week but still experience problems today. While at church today I checked the video driver for the Radeon ATI card and it's about 1½ years old. The PC has version 8 and a version 10 is available. I'm going to update it today and see if that makes a difference. You might want to check to make sure all codecs and video drivers are current too.

Just a follow up. It appears updating the driver did the trick. No stuttering of the background animation at all during today's service. Hopefully that is a trend. So I definitely recommend making sure video drivers are current.

There's a new build of MediaShout 4 (build 158, I think) out now. If you were getting the "flash of black" between cues with motion BG's, it seems to have fixed that. This issue occurred mostly with ATI Cards.

We ran MS4 on Sunday and everything went smooth as silk.

Funny that you mentioned the flash of black between cues with motion backgrounds. I have build 158 and current ATI driver, which solved the stuttering of motion background, but I did see the flash of black happening for the 1st time this past Sunday.
