clipboard How to put Static Slides in Motion?

We are in the process of analyzing MS 3.5, build 727 runnning on the latest Win Vista, to determine suitability as a replacement for the venerable MS PPT. What other software do we need to create cues from many hundred existing static photos with slow panning motion and fade transitions?

I understand the principle of the video background/foreground thing, but want to make our own custom "slides in motion" video with source material we already have.

Any suggestions, how to's would be greatly appreciated!

Blessings...

I don't know if any presentation software will make the kind of project you're talking about (although it will play it once created).

Try Microsoft's Photostory (it's free) as one option.

There's another program that's been highly recommended, and costs about $50, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Media Shout has a number of built-in transitions. Since I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, I'd say play with them before you make decisions to buy/make anything else.

We only use dissolves and cuts, but that's a style thing.

Is Proshow Gold the program you are thinking of? I have used it a few times for special slide shows and love it. It really makes it easy to give a static photo the Ken Burns treatment.

SongShow Plus can. You can pan/zoom background images and forground images. And you can make a Photo Slides slide show with the SlideShow Builder. That could show the photos, but not be used as a background for behind lyrics.

Here's a quick write up on the feature.

The demo is using the fade through black, but you could use a straight fade or any of the other transitions in SSP.
