MediaShout Triple-wide Announcement (& LOOPS!)

Did anyone using MediaShout get the update about their official support for using a triple-wide setup? They're now shipping a package paired with the Matrox TripleHead2Go device. While this is nothing new, their official acknowledgment of it is exciting. But what's even better is that they released a series of triple-wide video loops! Now that's something that's harder to come by.
Click here to see the loops they have released. This is something our church has been looking for. Too bad they're all graphic based. Does anyone know where you can get some good triple-wide nature video loops?

I saw the email about the system. Making it officially supported might help generate some content, but just ask Sysmom how much fun it is to generate most of your own content for a wider than normal or HD screen

For nature loops, your best bet at this point is probably to get some HD loops and scale and crop them to the 3x1 / 3840 x 1024 screen layout.

TRIPLE WIDE?!

::thud::

Nope, you won't find me signing up for that. Double wide is bad enough. I made the Pastor promise me if we build from scratch that he'll make the architect figure out ANY WAY to use a standard screen size. Widescreen, while it doesn't have nearly the content, would even be an improvement.

Then again, I just looked at the media they released for it. If all I wanted was some HBOC on the screen, it wouldn't matter what size the screen was, or what aspect the original was in.....

IMAX for Worship? I love it!

You would have to use a 35MM film camera or a Viper system to actually capture footage that would look good over all that resolution. I don't know how many production houses right now making backgrounds for worship have a 4k system to do that. I'm sure only time will tell though.

So are there any resources out there for HD loops then? (Other than pro stock video that costs hundreds of dollars for a clip?)

By the way, I wanted to post a picture or video clip of how awesome it looked when we used the triplehead2go, but it seems no one took the time to photograph it. =(

revostock.com has both SD and HD footage. Some is pre-done as loops, and some can be turned into loops with a bit of editing. Not as cheap as free, but pretty reasonably priced.

But triple wide does not equal HD...!

Triple wide equals 12:3

As to the HD question, we're talking about a 16:9 screen, right?

SermonSlides.com has some stills, I believe, and I think there are several places offering ready-made things in 16:9 with video, but not much. And mostly, like everything else, they are HBOC.

Now that I've gotten over my initial shock that anyone would willingly go triple wide, could someone explain to me how this is being used, please?

Is it a huge wide screen, or is it being utilized as three separate screens?

www.sermonvideos.com is offering a lot of their content in HD now... at about $10 a clip too-- about the best deal you can find for HD backgrounds. I also echo the revostock suggestion. They've got a great freebie up this week that makes a great background, it's not HD but great background none the less!

sysmom- on the use of this triple wide deal, my guess would be more special events type stuff. They are probably trying to have something to compete with Pro Video Player (Renewed Vision). I'm sure there a few churches who would take advantage of this on a weekly basis but I see more special event use out of this. This price of it is very reasonable too.

Yep. Hence the need to scale and crop. There'd be slightly less cropping from HD (not to mention more pixels to start with for scaling).

From the looks of the Shoutable store info, it's designed to be used as a huge wide screen. MediaShout doesn't have the capability to power more than one screen (plus the control screen), so this is one wide screen as far as it's concerned.

Here are a few instances of it being utilized as both that I've had experience with:

Not great pics, but you get the idea. You can do a LOT of fun stuff with great flexibility using it as such!
