MediaShout "bumpers"

Hey, gang!

I've been interested in the new set of Bumpers created by Igniter Media. Was trying to figure out how they were done and how to create my own. Basically they are little movie clips that transition from one still image to another. So I gave it a quick try yesterday.

The attached ZIP file contains a folder with a short MediaShout script and all the assests needed to run it.

The first is a transition from the series title screen to the sermon title screen. The second is from the title screen to the scripture screen. After the scripture passages, it goes back to the title screen and then back to the series title.

Rendered them all in After Effects and compressed in ProCoder. Still tweaking the settings as this first batch was a little too compressed, although the differences didn't read on the big screen as clearly as they did on the monitors... so that was a good thing.

Gonna expand on these this week for the next message and hope to develop some generic ones for sharing in the MXC.

That is great. Perhaps once you figure it out, you could offer up a short tutorial for others to try their hand at it as well.

Great job.

Great Idea and Very Nice!! I would like to put something like that together also. I'm very limited on skill and software, so I'm wondering if you could do this in Windows Movie Maker?

Neat idea. I've done almost the exact same thing for DVD transitions but never thought to use it for worship presentations.

Not really, since Windows Media and MediaShout both use DirectX to show vid. ??? Gotta be something goofy with a codec somewhere. ???

If you are creating the mpeg try adjusting the compression settings. Are you using mpeg 1,2, or 4? And which codec?

Well, I'm simply trying to check out the bumper example that Rev uploaded. None of the vids will open in Media Shout for me. I've had a lot of issues with Media Shout so this doesn't suprise me much. another issue I've had is when playing video through Media Shout in the sanctuary the audio fluctuates in volume. I've resolved to just use Power DVD on that computer until I figure this out.

Go to your profile and on the username header click the little wrench. That'll open an options window where you need to make sure "Show Avatar" is checked.
