Media Shout users

We are using MS 2.52 with direct x 9.0. I was informed by Media Shout tech support that a plugin will allow MS to play mpeg2 & mpeg4 files right from the script. The link to the site is
http://www.ligos.com/. LSX-MPEG is the program...They have a 30 day trial or you can buy the program LSX-MPEG Player 4.0 $29.95. I can now render my movies in dvd quality mpeg2 and MS has no problem playing them from the script.

Thanks for the input, threeputt! That's good to know, and I'll definitely be checking into it.

Just a side note for those who may not be aware, CCLI has changed the format of their SongSelect lyric files. The updated ShoutSinger can be found on this page.

Michael.

We were using a 1.4ghz AMD with 512 ram, Win ME, ATI Radeon VE 32 meg video card when I tried this program out. I noticed a big improvement in the frame rate especially at the beginning of the video...it seemed to get the movie started quicker & smoother (mpeg1 files)...now I have no need to use mpeg1 files anymore. We make mpeg2 dvd quality 720*480 movies and they play just like mpeg1 files right from the script.

Does this mean your frame rate is inconsistent? Is that better or worse (consistency) since moving to the new codec?
I will bore you with the details...I had been using the codec for about 20 days when our ole PC quit...The tab on the cpu socket (plastic) holding down the heat sink retention spring popped off...thus burning up the cpu in about 5 seconds....We then had to go to backup computer WIN 98 P3 866 512 meg of ram...even this slower machine played the videos smoothly for a couple of weeks til we could get the other machine rebuilt.
Revamped the case to a XP-2800 AMD Barton 1.5g ram, ATI 9600 radeon 256 meg ram. Saturday evening will be trial by fire for the new machine.

2nd With the 1.4 ghz machine...before the codec I noticed a slight delay between when you fired the cue til the movie was displayed...more noticeable when you had text on motion video...I am being picky...this would be noticed only to the operator of the computer...after the codec no delay on either machine.

Man it is tough when you are quizzed by 1 of the GURUS
