Media Shout V3 Won't play video

We have a Matrox RT.X10 capture card and use Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 to edit video - works great. However, with the Maxtrox software installed - Media shout 3 will not play video and won't do a live camera feed with firewire. When I uninstall the matrox software, everything in MS3 starts working again.

Would a firewire breakout box - s-video in to computer - work with Adobe Premiere Pro?
We could possibley replace the matrox capture card with a firewire box.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest going to the Mediashout website and checking their user forums. Your answer may be there. I wonder if the Matrox software isnt allowing your video card to work as DirectX9 compatable. The problem with alot of video not playing in Mediashout is DirectX9 compatability.

Bash Dx9

Thanks, I will try the Medai Shout forums again. I've tried that but can't find anything about it.
We switched to an ATI 2006 edition video card - 256mb to get DX9 compatibility. Before that we were using a Matrox 650 card.

Media Shout 3 won't work with Matrox software installed. The only way to get Media Shout 3 to work properly is to uninstall the Maxtrox software and then install it when we need to capture something. Everything worked fine in Media Shout 2.5 - but then it didn't need DX9.

Make sure you try out the latest version of Media Shout before you rule it out. I understand there have been many improvements since 3.0 initially came out.

And while you're checking, you should check out SongShowPlus and SundayPlus and see if they fit your needs any better than MS or EW.

According to the polls, those are the most used around here.

You should let your friend know that there was a WMP problem that resulted in some video forms locking or crashing the computer. There is a downloadable fix on there website for this problem. After I downloaded it we eliminated almost all our video issues. The other thing is that v3.0 requires that your video card be directX9 compatable, however v2.5 didnt. These were the main problems with video playback. We have been using MS for a few years and are using the new version and very much enjoy it.

Where's the update

Gord:

Who are you referring to when you say, "they" have an update? Microsoft or Media Shout? I can't use v3 because it won't load *any* video. I had to go back to 2.5 because of this. After buying a new video card (trust me, it *should* play it) and updating both Media Shout and WMP, I still get nothing. I'd like to know if there's a possible fix to it.

Sorry about not being specific. It is on the Mediashout website under the user forums section. When you say the video wont load are you trying to insert a DVD clip or a background for Lyrics? As well, what is your video card? I'll see if I can get this to work for you.

This is avi/wmv loading into Media Shout. The card is a Nvidia 6800 GS, 256mb. It runs on a P4 3GHz w/ 1GB memory, XP Pro. All programs (Media Shout, XP, WMP, DirectX) up to date.

I've been on tech support for an hour, a couple of times, trying to solve this... No dice. I've had enough of it, actually, and I'll be looking into something to replace it (Anyone want to buy our MediaShout v 2.5 + v3 upgrade?). I spent $$$ on it and it seems I'll be forever stuck at v2.5, so it's time to change.

I know that Media Shout, for the most part, is not compatible with Matrox. I've gone through many hours of dealing with their technical staff about this.
