Moving backgrounds for songs

How do I search for dark moving backgrounds for songs? All of our text is white. Prefer MOV format for Sunday Plus, but am willing to convert with Format Factory. Looking more for Christian graphics than nature scenes or abstract art.

Much of what you are going to find is abstract. Much of the specifically Christian stuff is cheesy.

You can look at MotionLoop's Worship Collection and Worship Collection 2 (scroll down in the middle column). But I guess they aren't all that dark.

Some of the newer worship software will allow you to tweak backgrounds and make them darker or change the color and stuff. I know SongShow Plus has those capabilities. I'm not sure what the others might do.

Also, shadows and outlines (strokes) can help a lot, also.

There are some in the MXC, like Gene's Heart of Worship.

You can search on Motion Background and dig through or go to the Video section and just start mining. There's no real good way of searching.

Looking for graphics library for my church

Hi Joel,
How's it going - I hope well! I am currently looking into getting a membership with either church media, Song show plus (which is our software we use for services) or faith highway (not so hot on them). Which would you recommend for sermons, sermon series, web site etc.? My site I maintain is communityoflife.us - if you could share your recommendation that would be great! You can also email me at

Take care and hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks-Under His Mercy,
Don Moss

Hey Don! Long time!

Since I'm on the Board of Directors here, I'm require to say that the $40/year here is one of your best deals, And actually, it is. Over 16,000 graphics available.

I've not tried ShiftWorship (which the SongShow Plus folks are pushing). But everyone I know that's tried it has really lked it. $149/year. They have a video that gives an overview of what they offer. I think they are more geared toward worship graphics (song backgrounds) than sermons. I think you'd really only get your moneys worth if you are looking for mini-movies and motion backgrounds.

For sermons and such, I usually use stock photos and create what I need with Photoshop. I usually start at Stock eXchange (sxc.hu), which is free and then go to istockphoto.com to buy something if I can't find what I want.

But browse around here in the Media eXchange Center (MXC). Most of the stuff is formated for projection. But it doesn't take many graphics to make it worth $40/year. I'd give you that advice whether I was on leadership here or not.

If you need to darken old backgrounds you may just want to run them through a video or photo editing software and make them darker yourself. Do it all the time because there is a lot of light in our sanctuary. Also Shift Worship and Motion Loops are great sites.
