Kid's Ministry Logo

Hello –

We are a non-denominational church in Oklahoma looking for a colorful/fun logo for our 5th-6th grade ministry: Club 56. The logo would be blown up and placed on the wall leading into our classroom, used on letterhead, and t-shirts. I've recently joined the church and am looking to help brand the 5th-6th grade department. The church is over budget so I'm donating my own money to have a cool-looking logo created. Does anyone have any ideas they could throw my way? From reading some of the posts, it appears some people in this forum actually like to do free logo creation. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I willing to give it a shot. How would you describe the group? What do they like to do? What action verbs would you use? Are you looking for something with clean lines or hand crafted? Any symbolism you want to convey?

Two words - traffic sign - Route 66 = Club 56
Simple, easy, instantly recognizable.

Did an image search for Route 66 - would be real easy to change Route to club.

We have a mixture of all kinds of kids. It appears many are from broken homes but they are a fun-loving group of 5th and 6th graders. I don't necessarily have to have a cross or stopsign in the picture. I just want "Club 56" to be big, bold, colorful, and eye-catching. I spoke with Timbuktoons and they charge $800-$1500 for a custom logo. WAY above my price range! There are so many kid's ministry logos that look like they came from the 80's (with horrible font). I'm looking for something fresh and contemporary.

Looking at the examples you liked, I'll throw this out as a starting point. It has the subtle suggestion of a road sign, incorporating Joseph B's idea.

This is from a conglomeration of free church marketing resources. I saved it in vector format, but the file is pretty dirty (lots of groups, clipping masks, etc).

How does this rate as far as your vision for the project?

Gene -- needs one or two more bright colors but that's great.

It's okay but I'm not crazy about the roadsign look. I'm looking for something more 3Dish that is almost jumping out at you.
