How about a TEXAS/OK GTG?

We've had a coupleof DFW gatherings, but I'd like to be more inclusive. Dallas is the perfect place for a Texas/OK gathering, but if somebody outside of DFW wants to host, speak up!

I'm thinking October or November. I'll host if novody else wants to, but I know of at least one CMNer that is on staff at Irving Bible Church, and that's one church I'd love to get a behind the curtains tour of.

Anybody have any other thoughts on a place or a theme? Dallas is a hot bed for Christian media production, and I'd like to get some local companies involved this time.

Well, if we are looking for a TX/OK gathering, Dallas would make sense.

On the plus side - after driving from Houston to St. Louis, and coming back via Iowa for the CMN conference, Dallas is a short jog.

On the minus side - a pipe flying out of the back of a truck in Dallas made me spend about $800 on my car coming back from St. Louis via Iowa... so I don't know about driving through Big-D.

But it's worth the risk. Dallas/Irving sounds good.

I'm ready to meet whenever/wherever. We're just getting started, so we're eager to participate.

Sounds like a great idea. Dallas is fine with us okies... closer would be better but we can live with having to travel to Dallas Let's firm up a date and place so I can start brow-beating the crew into going.

I'm trying to get some leads on a cool guest speaker. My church is nice and we do some cool stuff for a 150-200 person service, but It's nothing that has a WOW factor.

"Wow" would be nice, it would be a selling point to get our crew motivated. Some hands-on would be good too. Tour of the facility and some hands-on, oh... did I say hands-on again? I don't think a guest speaker is as important as actually getting to see how other teams operate and the equipment they use.

And don't forget, there has to be a good place to eat nearby. Can't go to the big city and not eat out.

Hey all...

I'm over here in Ft. Worth and we wouldn't drive to Dallas for nuttin' Ha! Ha!

Only kidding. If we ever grow to need a large place... we seat about 2200. and run 3 cameras weekly. We used to be on Daystar and run the ministry like we still are. We just don't run the tape over to the studio.

There is always the C3 conference at Fellowship in Grapevine every January. Now that's a site to behold. We could all go to that and have sub meetings.

We tried to all do that at Willowcreek this summer, but we never all connected.

That sounds really good, I'd love to see your church. Let's put the gathering on a slight delay until we find out the state of CMN but let's keep posting to this thread so local people see it more often.

Seriously, sounds good to me! I don't see any reason to wait on the CMN status but we do need to wait until after the back-to-school craziness is over.
