CMN Meeting Outline

Sorry if this question is answered elsewhere in the forum, but for those of you who are meeting regularly (local) what are you guys doing in your meetings and how often do you meet?

I've thought several times about reaching out to other church techs in our area to share ideas, fellowship, etc. and linking it up with CMN would make sense. So, any info on how you structure your meetings (content, length, frequency, etc.) would be helpful. Thanks!

Most of our Mid-Atlantic meetings have been pretty informal. Several times however we have picked a topic, like Drupal or Photoshop and had a session on using it, then do a show and tell of what other people are doing in their ministries.

It also usually has some food involved. So specific time frame, as long as people want to hang around.

The 2 Chicagoland meetings I've been to were very different.

The first one was mostly informal discussion, but we did have a in depth presentation on cable TV standards from the lovely and talented Jon Sadler. Jon also had a list of topics to discuss to keep the discussion moving.

The second one was a tech tour of the main Willow Creek campus. Amazing stuff. And then supper!

We are discussing meeting about once a quarter or so. But the group is basically just getting restarted, so we'll see how it goes.

I think what makes CMN work, and a huge debt of gratitude goes out to Tim for this, is that it is based on people helping each other.

Think of what those who would come to the meeting might be looking to learn and offer that to them with a real spirit of fellowship and learning, without ego.

I can find my own date, thanks. But I don't think I'd bring her to a CMN get together.
