| I'd pull the compression from the mains as well. The DriveRack should have a limiter on it. Compressing the mains reduces the dynamic range, increasing noise floor and reduces GBF. I'd compress the pastor's mic only if he's got extreme dynamics, would set it up with a high ratio with no make up gain. C. |

| Double compression can make interesting things happen. I'd bypass it at least temporarily and see if that alleviates problems or not. I've done both channel and group compression at the same time before, but that was on vocals for one musical and intentional, the group compressors set up with a high threshold, to take a very little bit of the top edge off of company numbers. |
