Which effects unit for basic effects?

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a basic effects unit and I'm considering the Lexicon MX200, but I'm wondering if I should consider the MX300.

I've seen topics mentioning the MX200 mostly, just wondering if the effects sound better on the MX300 and if their is any point spending a bit more or if it simply adds a few features which I wouldn't use anyway. There is also the usability (knobs vs small screen) and the power supply MX200 external wart vs MX300 internal.

Thanks

You can get a used TC M2000 for about $400, or a used Yamaha SPX990 for about $350.

I have a couple TC Electronics M-ONE's and I absolutely love them. I would say they are the most versatile. They're about $400. If your looking for just a delay unit, the D-2 has some really cool stereo delay sounds. It costs about $500.

Better is always better. I was reasonably happy with the cheapie Lexicon MPX-110s I'd been using for years, until I used an SPX90 on a show a few months ago and man, the SPX90 put the cheap effects to shame.

The TCs are great. Everybody likes them, and they're very versatile.

What I don't like about the M One is that (unless I'm missing something) the two engines' presets have to be saved and recalled as a pair. In the M2000, the engines' functions are independent.
