| I usually recommend Clearsonic isopak's to those that need drum control especially those on the move. I do normally suggest DIY to those in a more permanent setup. You can get rid of all the hinges and extra lines of the panels and get higher reduction in sound by custom manufacturing a solution. I've developed loads of solutions over my years ranging from half wall absorbers to full out rooms that reduce the level of the drums to less than a whisper on the stage. It all depends on the level you want to achieve as to how you need to go about getting there. Right now i'm finishing up a design of a full drum riser with integrate shield. The shield will be a three piece which will consist of a solid curved front piece with two straight wings going back. The riser is being build for extra rigidity while keeping it as light as possible. The Riser will also have a rack built into it for gear that is essential to the kit. It will be a month or so before i can even get to work on building this project but i'll post something as soon as i can. If you have a level you want to get to with your stage/drum level let us know and i'm sure we could help you figure out how to get there. crt

| You know, "C" weighted, that's not really all that bad depending on the layout of your sanctuary. I have used a combination slat-absorber/diffusor behind the drum kit to reduce the LF energy and diffuse the HF energy to reduce the reflection off the wall behind. If you have not yet been on the Avioms, or haven't been on the a couple of weeks, I'd wait. Maybe the volume of the drums is just the drummer fighting to hear himself over the rest of the stage volume. He may tone down once he gets his ears. Have you done anything for tactile feedback for the drummer and bass player? C. |
